SAT II Subject test: Mathematics Level 2

This course is based on the Kaplan study workbook. The emphasis and the scope of the course are drawn directly from the Official SAT Subject Test Study Guide.

The course will cover the following topics:

  • 1. Algebra;
  • 2. Plane Geometry;
  • 3. Solid Geometry;
  • 4. Coordinate Geometry;
  • 5. Trigonometry;
  • 6. Functions;
  • 7. Statistics;
  • 8. Miscellaneous Topics.

In each section we offer a diagnostic test to identify the weak areas of each individual student. Remedial and score-raising techniques will be taught. In addition, special attention will be drawn to the use of scientific and graphing calculators for answering the questions correctly 100% of the time. We will train you to test your best.

Location: The courses are held at the National Laboratory of Computer Virology. Address: "G. Bonchev" Str., Block 8, Room 172 (in the building of the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences)

Duration: 30 academic hours, as follows:

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00pm to 6:30pm for 5 weeks.

  • Saturdays for 10 weeks.
    Group 1: from 10:00am to 00:30pm.
    Group 2: from 01:00am to 03:30pm.
    Group 3: from 04:00am to 06:30pm.

Note: Courses are confirmed when at least 5 students have enrolled. The maximum number of participants per group is 9.

Fee: 150,00 BGN (the price does not include textbooks and calculators).

  • Math Circles at UCI, 1997 – 2003. Under the supervision of L. Katzarkov, maintained website, conducted discussions and tests, prepared lecture notes and, occasionally, lectured.
  • California State Summer School for Mathematics and Science (COS- MOS), 1999 – 2003.A summer program for fork with gifted high-school students. Gave lectures and lead discussion sessions. Prepared lecture notes and website, conducted and graded tests.
